How to Greive your new assesment
If you believe your new assesment figure is too high, you have a right under the law to file a formal legal grievance challenging it.
The period during which you may file a legal grievance to your new assesment begins on January 2, 2008 and ends on March 1, 2008. There is no fee to file your appeal directly with the Assesment Review Commission. Grievance applications as well as a publication containing procedures for contesting your assessment are available online at www.nassaucountyny.gov/arc or at the Nassau County Department of Assessment, 240 Old Country Road, 4th Floor, Mineola. To obtain these forms, you can call the assessors'office at 571-3214.
